A new chapter for Lume Wealth: Patrick Flynn has joined the team

Patrick Flynn has officially joined Lume Wealth as our Managing Director, building on several years of working alongside the Lume Wealth team in a consulting capacity.

Advice with heart, now with even stronger foundations behind it.

We’re excited to share an important update at Lume Wealth.

Patrick Flynn has officially joined Lume Wealth as our Managing Director, building on several years of working alongside the Lume Wealth team in a consulting capacity.

At Lume, we help people make smart money decisions through life’s big changes and in the first couple of years under the Lume Wealth brand, we’ve been grateful for the increasing trust our clients and professional partners have been putting in us as they refer their family, friends, and clients to us.

As Lume has been growing, one thing matters more than ever: Keeping our advice experience personal and human, while meeting the need to strengthen the systems that sit behind it.

That’s where Patrick comes in.

Patrick brings an incredible wealth of experience to Lume. Working in advice since 2005, his experience spans being a financial adviser through the Global Financial Crisis, key roles in fast-growing small businesses, leadership and innovation roles in a global corporate, founding his own web design business (the very one that built our own website), and most recently in working his own management consultancy to some of the best practices in the country.

My job is to make the engine room of Lume run brilliantly, because providing great advice doesn’t just happen by accident or with pure talent. It requires systems, structure, tenacity, and vigilance.

Good systems behind advice presents itself in small touches across every interaction: Clearer advice, fast delivery, and strong support as your financial plans are put into action.”
— Patrick Flynn

What Patrick will focus on at Lume

Patrick is responsible for the systems, processes, controls and oversight that support how our advice to you is prepared, reviewed, implemented, and maintained over time. In practice, that means smoother workflows, clearer communication, and the confidence that important details are being handled carefully.

Patrick is also studying his Master of Financial Planning, and will be reprising his past role as a financial adviser in his own right. You may get to work with Patrick directly on complex or specialised projects, rolling out new aspects of our service, or anywhere else he’s jumping in and lending a hand.

What this means for you

You’ll see the same warm, straightforward, empathetic advice you know Lume for, now supported by even stronger infrastructure behind the scenes. Morgan continues as Director and Principal Financial Adviser, and Liz continues as Client Services Manager, ensuring your experience stays consistent, responsive, and well-supported.

Looking ahead: Rachael Purnell joining over the coming months

We’re also pleased to share that Patrick’s support in his previous consulting work, Rachael Purnell, will be increasingly joining the team over the coming months. Rachael has been supporting Patrick in his work with Lume Wealth over the past two years. In her own right, Rachael brings near 15 years of experience in financial advice administration, workflow management, and implementation, ultimately helping turn good systems and good ideas into real-world outcomes. You can learn more about Rachael on our website here.

Lume has always been about clarity and care through big life transitions. Bringing in Patrick and Rachael, some of the best in the profession, supports the great work we do at key stages in your life.”
— Morgan Hayward

This is an exciting turning point for Lume Wealth: A step forward in capability, consistency, and capacity. This allows us to keep delivering advice with heart, while making the experience even clearer and easier for our clients.
